Over the past few months of quarantine and stay-home orders, we’ve grown closer to those nearest to us, including the pet companions we share our lives with. To celebrate Pet Wellness Month in October, we paid a visit to Harmony Farm Sanctuary to share the many advantages of CBD for pets with them.
With more than 100 animal residents including goats, donkeys, horses, and even an alpaca, the animal sanctuary is a unique place. However, it was a sheep named Lee that inspired us to see how CBD could potentially help farm animals. As he is growing older, Lee suffers from joint pain that is limiting his mobility. Harmony Farm owner, Robine Bots, and her team of volunteers wondered if CBD could help.

Animals that have a spinal column also have an endocannabinoid system similar to the one we have in our bodies. There are receptors throughout the body that are specifically designed to bind with cannabinoids. Since every animal’s body is different, it is crucial to take the time to fully assess what would work best for them. CBD tinctures can be added to your pet’s water, food, or taken under the tongue. As CBD oil offers many benefits, it is important that you do your own research to find out how you can help improve the quality of life of your furry friend.
