There is some thought that CBD could possibly cause a decrease in an estrogen-based pill’s effectiveness. This, of course, could lead to an unwanted pregnancy.
It’s very early on in the studies around CBD and the birth control pill
Why we are suggesting that, is because there is a study showing that cannabinoid compounds fail to stimulate estrogen receptors in vitro conditions at very high concentrations but CBD competes with estradiol (naturally occurring estrogen) and impedes its proper working.
Moreover, CBD has shown some side effects towards liver and Liver is responsible for more than 50% of estrogen metabolism by cytochrome P450 enzymes which modulate and regulate estrogen metabolism in the human body.
